Immigrant & Refugee Services
Somali Family Service's Refugee Integration Initiative aims to acculturate refugees, asylees, and other low-income immigrants in San Diego County and to connect them with the resources that will help them to become self-sufficient and independent.
Conduct workshops to help clients integrate into the community.
Workshop topics include: Employment navigation, college and financial aid support, financial literacy, low-income housing navigation, citizenship and naturalization, nutrition and healthy lifestyles, microenterprise and business development, and home and community safety.
Case Managers assess the needs of clients and their families, and assist them with developing an individualized action plan to attain their goals. Cash assistance may be provided on an as-needed basis for housing, food, clothing, bills, bus / trolley passes, security guard cards for job requirements, and obtaining driver's license / photo ID from the DMV.

Our Impact
I am thankful for the ORR ARAP program.
ARAP beneficiary -
My friend encouraged me to go to SFS and register myself for services. I have received lots of services from them like interpretation, case management, and getting a job. My case manager helped me get ready and find a job in a shop. Since that time, I have been working in a shop and am thankful for the ORR ARAP program.
