Somali Family Service (SFS) will be hosting a farming project on May16th in honor of the 11th Annual National Arab American Service Day (NAASD).

NAASD’s motto of “Serving Communities, Connecting People,” expresses its goal of bringing together Arab Americans in collaboration with SFS, and in service to diverse communities. Volunteers will learn more about farming and how this contributes to the well being and lives of refugees and new Americans. The project will take place in International Rescue Committee Farm in El Cajon. Over 2,000 people in communities from across the country are expected to participate. While each city has organized a unique project and established their local partnerships, they all share one common interest: responding creatively to community needs.
