Small Business Expo

Somali Family Service hosted our fourth Business Expo on June 13, 2026.

Bringing together panelists from diverse industries, the event created a unique opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs and current business owners to learn directly from experienced professionals with a wide range of expertise. Panelists shared their entrepreneurial journeys, discussed the challenges they faced in building and growing their businesses, and offered practical strategies for overcoming common obstacles. Topics included business planning, accessing capital, marketing, customer engagement, community resources, and long-term business sustainability.

The event fostered meaningful networking opportunities by bringing together entrepreneurs, business professionals, community organizations, resource providers, and local leaders in one space. Attendees connected with fellow business owners, exchanged ideas and experiences, explored potential partnerships, and built relationships that can support future business growth and collaboration. Many participants also learned about local programs and services available to help small businesses access technical assistance, training, financing, and mentorship.
100% of attendees rated the event quality as "Excellent" or "Good," and participants mentioned they loved the panel, inclusion of AI topics, and organization of the event.

This event was made possible in part through funding provided by the City of San Diego's Capacity Building Grant Program. We are grateful to the City of San Diego for its investment in strengthening local organizations and supporting initiatives that empower our business community

We look forward to future business expo events where we will continue to support our small business community!
