DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR                                               Posting Date: 1/5/2015

The Development Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation and monitoring of efforts to leverage donations of financial and in-kind resources in support of SFS’s mission. The specific areas of responsibility and oversight include: grant research, development (proposal writing), grants tracking, and programmatic support (reporting). Other areas include but not limited to: events planning, marketing, and PR. 




Bachelor's degree in related field Experience with Government grants Proven record of successful development of grant proposals Three years of experience working with refugee and immigrants and culturally and linguistically diverse populations Knowledge of Mid-City community and its resources Knowledge of East African communities of San Diego Ability to work independently under minimal supervision; self-starter comfortable with taking initiative Excellent organizational skills and ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely fashion Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work well with diverse communities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in internet research Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize given numerous and overlapping deadlines Friendly and receptive representative of SFS when dealing with clients and funders Driver’s license, vehicle, auto insurance, and clean driving record
